Travel planning guide
Planning a five-day, four-night Kansai trip from Taiwan
Plan daily travel around your flights, accommodation and companions before choosing sights. This is an example for discussion, not a fixed package. Confirm the itinerary and price individually.
Prepare four pieces of information
- Travel dates, arrival and departure times, and terminals.
- Group size, age range, luggage and walking needs.
- Accommodation and whether you prefer to stay in one hotel.
- Two or three priorities and an approximate budget.
A five-day itinerary example
- Day 1: Arrive in Kansai. If time allows, discuss a short visit in Izumisano or Tajiri. For a late arrival, travel directly to your accommodation.
- Day 2: Osaka. Group sightseeing, meals and shopping in the same area to reduce backtracking.
- Day 3: Kyoto. Choose one main area, then select sights around transport and walking distances.
- Day 4: Nara or free time. Adapt to the group’s energy and interests, or keep the day for shopping in Osaka.
- Day 5: Departure. Prioritise the flight, check-in requirements and luggage before deciding whether a short activity will fit.
Keep arrival and departure days flexible
Do not use landing time as the meeting time. Allow for immigration, baggage collection and terminal transfers. On departure day, plan around the airline’s check-in requirements and allow a transport buffer. Check Kansai Airport’s official transport and luggage-storage information before travelling.
Travelling with children, older adults or more luggage
Tell us if the group needs fewer stairs, shorter walks or longer meal and rest breaks. Vehicle arrangements also depend on passenger numbers and luggage. Discuss changing hotels in light of the travel burden and preferred areas.
